
Rest is a wonderful blessing that is refreshing to the body and the soul. True rest is only found in Jesus! Jesus Christ died on the cross to save us from our sins, He was buried and then He rose to life again conquering sin and death for all of eternity! (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) All who believe in Jesus receive eternal life in Him! (John 3:16) All those who believe in Jesus become children of God! (John 1:12) As children of God, who believe in Jesus, we have Jesus living in our inner being as our personal Lord and Savior. Jesus paid the full price for us when He died on the cross for us to reconcile us to God by the shedding of His blood for us! We have peace with God through Jesus who loves us and gave Himself for us! As children of God our souls are at rest in Jesus because Jesus has set us free from all sin and death for all of eternity and we have been reconciled to God by the blood of Christ which He shed for us! Our souls have peace with God because of our Savior, Jesus, who lives in our inner being as our personal Lord and Savior! As Psalm 62:1 says, “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. (NIV) Praise God for blessing us with His perfect love and His perfect grace! God has blessed us with His free gift of salvation in Jesus, a gift that must be received by faith! (Romans 3:25) God opened our hearts and our eyes to see the truth about our sinful nature and to understand our need for our Savior, Jesus! God taught us about His perfect love for us and He taught us about our Savior, Jesus, and His sacrifice of death on the cross for us! God blessed us with faith in Jesus so that we received eternal forgiveness and eternal life in Him! It is God alone who we sin against and yet it is God who drew us in, opened our eyes, and blessed us with faith in Jesus so that we could receive eternal salvation in Him! Praise God for His perfect love and His perfect relentless grace! God has blessed us with everything that we need and everything that we do not deserve in our Savior, Jesus! God has blessed us with eternal salvation in our Savior, Jesus, and our souls have true eternal rest in Him!
Now we know that God has blessed us with true rest in Jesus but are we enjoying it? Jesus paid that full price for us when He died on the cross for us, setting us free from all sin and death for all of eternity in Him! As we read in Galatians 5:1, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. (NIV) Jesus set us free to be free! We must not spend any more time focusing on our sinful nature or the ways of this world! We must not think and act as those who are slaves to sin because, in Jesus, we are no longer slaves to sin and we are not under the law but rather we are under the grace of God! (Romans 6:14) We must keep ourselves fixed on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith! (Hebrews 12:2) As Galatians 6:14 says “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. (NIV) It is no longer us who lives but it is Jesus who lives in us and Jesus is our life! (Galatians 2:20, Colossians 3:4) In Jesus, we have died to sin and death and we are now alive to God in Jesus! (Romans 6:11) Our old self is gone and now we are a new creation in Jesus who loves us and gave Himself for us! (2 Corinthians 5:17) We must no longer focus on our sinful nature and we must let go of the guilt of our sin because, in Jesus, all of our past, present and future sins have been forgiven for all of eternity in Him! Let us focus on God and His perfect grace that He has blessed us with in our Savior Jesus! Let us humbly go before the Lord our God and let go of everything but Him! Let us humbly commit ourselves and submit ourselves to God and His perfect will! Job 22:21-22 instructs us to “Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart. (NIV) God is in control of all things and God’s will is always done! God always works everything out for the good of His children! (Romans 8:28) God always knows exactly what you need in each moment of your life, even though you do not, and He will always bless you with exactly what you need in each moment of your life! God has a perfect plan for your life! (Jeremiah 29:11) Humble yourself before the Lord your God and submit yourself to Him! Let go of everything but Him and submit yourself to God’s perfect will! As Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (NIV)
In your Savior, Jesus, you have been blessed with true rest in Him! Now be sure to enjoy it and truly rest in your Savior! Do not try to burden yourself again with the guilt of your sins or the pressure that the world puts on you! You have been blessed with the perfect grace of God and you are eternally forgiven for all of your past, present and future sins in Jesus! You are a child of God with Jesus living in your inner being and He is your life! (John 1:12, Colossians 3:4) You do not live to glorify yourself, your sinful nature, or the ways of the world but rather, you are alive to God in Jesus and you live to glorify the Lord your God who has appointed you to eternal life in your Savior, Jesus, who loves you and gave Himself for you! Remember that it is God who works in you to do His will and live a life that glorifies Him! (Philippians 2:13) All of the good in us is Christ in us, and because all of the good in us is Christ in us, the good in us will never cease or fail! Jesus is the light of life (John 1:4) and He lives in your inner being holding out His light of life to all those around you through you! Enjoy being the vessel through which God constantly shares His truth and love with others! Be careful to always live as one who is a child of the one and only living God of all creation, because, in Jesus, that is who you are! By the grace of God you are a precious, dearly loved child of God who has been eternally redeemed by the blood of Jesus! You have not a thing to fear for you have everything that you need in your Savior, Jesus, who lives in you! (Ephesians 1:3) Let go of all things and commit yourself to God! God is always working everything out for your good and you are guaranteed a perfectly blessed future in your Savior, Jesus, and an eternal future in Heaven with Him! You have been set free from sin and death for all of eternity so let go of the guilt of your sin and enjoy this blessed eternal life to which you have been called in your Savior, Jesus!
You have been blessed with true eternal rest in your Savior, Jesus, so since you have been blessed with that rest enjoy it and don’t spend another second holding on to the past or anything that burdens you! Let it all go and give it to God! Stop thinking and acting as someone who is enslaved to sin for you have been eternally set free from all sin and death in your Savior Jesus! Enjoy that perfect freedom that you have been blessed with in Jesus and praise God without ceasing! Enjoy each day that you have been blessed with knowing that you are guaranteed a perfectly blessed future in your Savior, Jesus, and you have not a thing to fear! Even times of struggle in our lives are blessings from God that He designed perfectly for us through which He shapes us even further into the children of God that He has created us to be! Struggles are no struggles at all but rather blessings in our lives that God blesses us with to better prepare us for the blessed eternal life to which we have been called in our Savior, Jesus! So rest in Jesus! You have been blessed with true eternal rest in Jesus so enjoy it and praise God for it!
Maybe you have never known true rest in your life because you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Do not delay any longer! God has brought you here and He is working in your heart and in your life at this very moment. God wants you to come to Him just as you are in this moment and He will give you rest! No one is perfect and we all sin. (Romans 3:23) Our sin separates us from God and our sin leads to death. (Isaiah 59:2, Romans 6:23) Jesus Christ died on the cross to save us from our sins, He was buried and then He rose to life again! (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) All who believe in Jesus receive eternal life in Him! (John 3:16) Salvation for our souls is only found in Jesus. (Acts 4:12) Salvation for our souls in Jesus is a free gift from God and this free gift from God must be received by faith. (Romans 3:25) When we come to understand and admit that we are sinners and if we believe in our hearts that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins, then we can invite Jesus into our hearts and our lives as our personal Lord and Savior and receive eternal life in Him! (Romans 10:9) If you have come to understand and admit that you are a sinner and if you believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross to save you from your sins and that He rose to life again, then you can invite Jesus into your heart and life as your personal Lord and Savior and receive eternal life in Him. You can pray a prayer like this:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I know that I am a sinner and that I need Jesus to save me. I believe that Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins and that He rose to life again. God I am sorry for my sin. I invite Jesus into my heart and my life as my personal Lord and Savior. I commit my life to you.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
If you have prayed a prayer like this and accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, then you have been eternally forgiven for all of your past, present and future sins in Jesus and you have received eternal life in Him! Your old self is gone and you are now a new creation in Jesus! You have died to sin and you are alive to God in Jesus! You now have true rest for your soul in Jesus! Enjoy the true eternal rest you have in your Savior, Jesus, and enjoy this blessed eternal life to which you have been called in Him!
