A brand new year has begun and so many of us may be motivated to make some healthy changes in our lives. As we move forward trying to set some healthy goals and do our best to try and meet each one, we should remember that we are not here for ourselves but to bring glory to the Lord our God! We must turn to God and learn from Him how He desires us to live our lives. One way that we can learn from God how to live in a manner that glorifies Him is to spend time reading God’s Word, the Bible. This month we have a Scripture plan called “New Years Resolutions” in which we will spend time in God’s Word to learn from Scripture how we can improve our daily lives to the glory of God. The Bible tells us that God always works in all things for His glory and for our good, the good of His precious, dearly loved children who have been blessed with faith in Jesus Christ our Savior! (Romans 8:28) If we desire to make some changes in our daily lives then let us faithfully turn to the Lord our God in prayer and submit ourselves to Him, understanding our utter dependence upon God for our every need. (Deuteronomy 8:3) The Bible instructs us in Proverbs 3 to trust in God and not rely on ourselves but to submit to God and rely on Him to establish our steps. We can move forward joyfully in the Lord being renewed by the Lord our God looking to Him to teach us and to guide us as He deems best according to His perfect will. (Romans 12:2) I pray that you will be greatly encouraged in the Lord as you study the Scriptures outlined in this plan and I am confident in the Lord and know that He is able to do so much more than all we ask or can even imagine. (Ephesians 3:20-21)
